LASIK (Laser -AssistedInSituKeratomileusis) is the most common method of laser vision correction in the most centers for refractive surgery in the world, including in our clinic. In this procedure, an excimer laser is used to correct refractive anomalies: myopia, hypermetropia i astigmatism.

Today is LASIK the most popular method of laser vision correction in which the special microsurgical instrument (mikrokeratom) is used to make the cornea flap, that after laser corneal shape modeling, simply, just like the cover returns into it's place.

What is Wavefront LASIK?

Wavefront LASIK technology uses a patient's eyeglass prescription, and through a series of complex nomograms leads to most optimal correction for the patient. Surgery

What happens after surgery?

For the first few hours to a few days after LASIK laser vision correction method there is a possibility of scratching and tearing of the eye, along with sensitivity to light and mild eye irritation that can greatly reduce the presence of therapeutic soft contact lens in the eye. When does it come to recovery and improvement of vision?

Am I a candidate for LASIK vision correction?

Return to everyday activities

When LASIK is used, it's most usually that the both eyes are operated simultaneously, and patients are able to return to everyday activities after 48 hours. People who work in environments where there is an increased risk of injury and infection of the eye (welders, textile, chemical industry, construction) it is recommended that for the first week after surgery they avoid adverse conditions at workplace. It is recommended that for the first week after surgery to avoid sports in which could any injuries occur.

Dr. Sc. Igor Knezović, MD

He graduated in 1998 at the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb, as the youngest student in the class. He actively participate in teaching and research activities in Zagreb and at the University of Mostar. He's registered investigator of several research projects (Immunology of the eye, eye banking network) and co-author of numerous scientific papers and presentations, both at domestic and at international conferences (Istanbul, Munich, Berlin, Ljubljana, Nice, Haal, etc.).

He was invited lecturer on:Berlin (SOE - travel grant), 2005 Istanbul (BSOS), 2006 Solun (EEOA), 2010 Romania, Transilvanija. He was an active participant in the practical course for ultrasound cataract operation, Bernek, Switzerland, 2006 and educational exchange for the diagnosis of diseases of the eye posterior segment (Ljubljana, 2011). He has received international scholarships SOE in 2008 as a representative of young ophthalmologists from Eastern Europe, and special training in laser vision correction, held in Chartageni, Colombia, 2008, from Dr. Carriaza, one of the most renowned ophthalmologists in the field of laser vision correction in the world.

Participant of several international workshops conctactology (Milan, 2008, Warsaw, 2009, Prague 2011). He successfully completed the international course of laser vision correction (LASIK) in Mumbai (India, 2009), and the ultrasound cataract surgery (PHACO), Chennai (India, 2009), at Dr. Agarwal, one of the greatest innovators in ophthalmology in general who personally and practiced educated him.

After education he became one of the pioneers of these interventions in the institutions in which he is employed in Croatia. He is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS), the European association of eye banks (EEBA), Croatian Medical Association, Croatian Immunological Society, Croatian Ophthalmological Society (COS) and the Croatian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (CSCRS ).

Teeth Whitening

Indications that you might need teeth whitening are external discoloration which occur in the enamel due to excessive consumption of coffee, tea, red wine, smoking – if treated in their early stages those discolorations can be eliminated with teeth sanding. But over the years they can become so intense that only bleaching can achieve successful results. Another cause might be the internal discolorations caused by decay of colorigenic material in dentin and enamel. Plaque removal

Plaque removal is the process of removing plaque and the cluster with the teeth and under the gums. Plaque may cause inflammation of the gums, gingival recession, and can eventually cause bobbing teeth. Not to mention that it is both aesthetically inappropriate and leads to bad breath. Due to insufficient and inadequate oral hygiene, hereditary factors or inadequate dental work build up the plaque and tartar.

During regular controls such conditions can be observed in time and repaired. Worn out dentures and poor fillings irritate and damage the gums and potentiate inflammation. Long-term inflammation of the gums leads to the withdrawal of the gums and creating pockets. This condition supports increased accumulation of bacteria, difficulty maintaining hygiene and increasing risk of infection. Through a longer period this leads to parodentosis (supporting tissue disease) and loose teeth that may eventually fall out. The first step in correcting that situation is enhanced hygiene and cleaning the plaque and teeth tartar.

The sights of Zagreb

Museums - The treasures of history are kept and exhibited in the museums of Zagreb. Apart from objects related to the history of the city, the Zagreb museums and art collections possess exhibits from the whole world round of very considerable historical and artistic value. Things of particular rarity are the Zagreb Mummy with the world's longest text in Etruscan, and the remains of Neanderthal prehistoric man (homo Krapinensis).

Parks - Green parks and fountains, avenues of trees and flowers starting with Zrinjevac in the town centre. The series of parks go from town centre down to the railway station, through the botanical gardens and up to Marulić and Tito Squares where the theatre stands. They are known as the Lenucci horseshoe because of the shape they form and the name of the landscape gardener who planned them. They are well provided with benches where you can rest from sightseeing and plan the next thing you want to do.

Maksimir Park is situated in the eastern part of the town. It was open to public in 1794 and was the first public promenade in this part of the Europe. It was named after its founder, the Zagreb bishop Maksimilian Vrhovec (1752 - 1827) who, apart from the archbishop Haulik, took the credit for its arrangement. Maksimir is arranged in the place of part of the oak woods in the middle of the 19th century.
